How the Site Works
Welcome
to TOTAL Non Profit Resources (tnpr.ca), a site dedicated to the voluntary
sector. Many organizations struggle with providing adequate training
and resources to their staff and volunteers. Half of all voluntary organizations
in Canada have budgets less than $100,000 and these organizations struggle
with issues of increased competition for resources, public concern for
accountability and governance, and a call for increased transparency
and outcome measures.
The voluntary
sector in Canada is enormous – comprised of more than 200,000 voluntary
sector organizations. These small, often all-volunteer organizations
have limited resources available to assist them in effectively planning
and implementing programs and raising sufficient funds.
As the
complexity of issues facing the voluntary sector is continues to increase,
having easy access to appropriate resources will assist these organizations
in improving the management and governance of their organizations.
Managed
by Volunteer Hamilton, tnpr.ca is an interactive online, web-based
resource centre. It is designed to assist both staff and volunteers
working for small to medium-sized voluntary sector organizations in
accessing the resources they require to effectively manage their organizations.
